Research - Target Users & Aim of the App
Target Users:
Current students: to look at their class schedules, assignments due, events happening on
campus, keep their attendance in check, etc.
Faculty/Professors: to upload notes, grade assignments all in one app
Aim of the App:
Most students spend their days in university trying to make the most of their experience on
campus.
NMIMS App aims at maximising this experience for students by highlighting all the helpful,
essential details that a student could benefit from.
Discover - Problem statement and solution
Discovering the Problem
Lack of Interactive Sources: The current portal doesn’t offer any interactive
resources that could help students directly
Accessibility: To access basic information, students need to login into a web portal
instead of having the option to access it easily, from an app that is easier to access
Social life:Events happening on campus are spread through word of mouth and bulletin
boards, instead of an efficient method being employed
Defining a Solution
Interactive Sources: An app could be made for students to manage their life at
university. From classes to extracurriculars, this app could be a resource for students to
use readily.
Accessibility:Instead of having a web portal, an app is easier to access and more
widely used by the student population. Having a personalised app which displays information
relevant to the student would prove to be useful.
Social life:Keeping up with social events on campus, offered by various clubs could
be easily communicated by the help of the app, acting as a student union.
Features of the application
Personalised login:
students can login using this SAP ID (unique roll number) for easier access to the
classes they are taking in a particular semester
Clubs and committees:
With the aim to help students with their social life, a page dedicated to each club on
campus, explaining what they do, how to join, events they have conducted, etc
